Appenzeller Spitzhauben is a soft feather light pure breed. They are excellent foragers and would do very well in a free range system as they are able to find a lot of food for themselves.
They are cold weather hardy (originating from Switzerland) and the hens will lay around 200 large white eggs in their first year.
